Why does everything that's good for you have to taste like kale?
Oh wait. It doesn't. It can taste like chocolate milk... if your chocolate milk was made with raw grass-fed milk and raw honey!!
Raw, grass-fed milk is a nutritional powerhouse.
Raw milk is easy to digest, unlike pasteurized milk.
It's packed with all 22 amino acids, including the 8 essentials.
It contains every fat soluble vitamin, and is loaded with minerals.
After all, everything that a baby animal needs to grow must be supplied by its mother's milk, so it is about as perfect as food can be.
Raw honey is also a real food full of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. It encourages healthy gut flora rather than dysbiosis caused by refined sugar.
Cocoa powder is a fantastic source of antioxidants and flavanols.
Some homemade chocolate milk recipes have you mixing up individual batches at a time, which is a hassle. This recipe makes 3 cups of chocolate syrup, which will make quite a few servings of chocolate milk. Having a jar of this syrup in the fridge makes it quick and easy to make a glass of chocolate milk with no fuss.
1 cup raw honey
1 cup warm water
1 cup cocoa powder
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tbs vanilla extract
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend on low till smooth.
Pour into a quart sized jar, keep refrigerated.
You can make your milk more or less chocolatey, but I love to put 3 tablespoons of syrup in a pint jar, then fill the rest of the way with milk and stir. It's rich, and not overly sweet. It has a nice mouth feel too, a little more body than plain milk.
I asked my neighbor kid to try this to see how she liked it, and not only did she love it, but so did her mom!
